Brick already brings texture and visual weight to an exterior, so the lighting does not need to compete with it. Clean warm-white rooflines, wreaths centered on strong architectural elements, restrained entry greenery and selected tree lighting can create a layered result without covering every surface.

The most important design decision is often what not to light. Leaving intentional dark areas gives the illuminated architecture more contrast.
